Yandex Expands into Brazil

Yandex arrives in Brazil

Yandex, often referred to as the Russian version of Google, has just launched operations in Brazil through Yandex Ads, a division of the company equivalent to Google Ads.

The company is setting up a Latin American operation led by Brazilian Marcelo Costa.

Success is earned. Growth comes through effort. Innovation thrives when vision meets bold execution

Until recently, he was country manager at Sellesta, a Mexican multinational offering e-commerce and digital marketing solutions. Before that, Costa was Head of Sales for Brazil and Portugal at Voximplant, a US-based multinational specializing in communication solutions.

I am thrilled to join Yandex Ads, where I am committed to establishing a high standard of excellence in our operations, supporting publishers and marketers to unlock new potential in their B2B and B2C strategies," said Costa.

In Brazil, Yandex Ads will provide solutions for website and app ad monetization, alongside detailed analytics and app retargeting.

With revenue of $8.1 billion last year, Yandex is a dominant force in Russia and other countries within its sphere of influence, including former Soviet republics like Belarus, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan.

In these markets, the company offers a wide range of services, from cloud computing, maps, and transport to internet search, alongside digital marketing solutions through Yandex Ads.

Among Yandex’s divisions, Yandex Ads appears to have the best chance of success in Brazil. The company has been hosting events in São Paulo since April.
